My Friend

My Friend 1

I have a very good friend. His (her) name is … Friends are very important in our life. I think one cannot live without friends. The most important thing for being good friends, to my mind, is to be ready to help one another in any situation, nevertheless how difficult it is, to support one another and to solve all the problems together. And never mind, that the friends may have different interests and hobbies, different likes and dislikes. They say that the friend in need is a friend indeed. I think it is really so,

My friend and I always do our best to help one another. We discuss all our troubles and try to find the best decision in any situation. My friend is a very good, kind and clever boy (girl). We often spend our free time together. It is not very easy now, because both of us are very busy — we are going to enter institutes and have a lot of work to do.

My friend is going to become a doctor (a teacher, an engineer, a lawyer). Our future professions are different (the same) and the subjects we have to study are different (the same) too, but (and) we like to work together and to help one another in our study.

When we have some free time, we go for walks, read and discuss books, watch films, go to discos or play computer games. Playing computer games is our hobby. Both of us are fond of sport. We go in for swimming (tennis) and often go to the swimming pool (tennis court) together. We are football fans and we like to watch and discuss football matches on TV or to go to the stadium. I love my friend very much. I think he (she) is a true friend. Our friendship is very dear to me and I try to do my best to be a good friend too.

My Friend 2

I’d like to tell you about my friend. She is my classmate. She is very diligent and kind-hearted. She is willing to help old people and animals. She is good at mathematics. She is interested in history. She is bright girl and does her lessons quickly and easily. She listens very attentively to all the explanations in class. She is extremely fond of reading. I have much in common with her and we never quarrel, because there is no reason for it. We have common ideas, opinions and we discuss different problems together. I think she is rather beautiful. She has a snub nose, curly hair. She is a pretty girl.

My Friend 3

There is no denying the fact that a person can’t live in isolation. It is very important for a human being to have a friend with whom he can be sincere and frank. It’s great to think that there is someone to turn to for help and advice, someone who will sympathise with you and stand by you in any situation and who will tell you the bitter truth if necessary. Everyone knows that the more we love our friends the less we flatter them. Real friendship is a thing that we cherish, but true friends are not so easy to come by.
I have a lot of friends, but my best friend is Nick. We became Mends about three years ago when his family moved to our block of flats and he came to our school. We see each other almost every day.
Nick is a tall slim boy. He has dark hair, large dark eyes, a straight nose and thin lips. He wears spectacles. Nick is a nice guy. He is very honest and just, understanding and kind. I trust him a lot and I’m sure that I can rely on him in any situation. He never lets people down. Nick is only 16 but he is very responsible — he finishes whatever he starts. He’s got only one shortcoming. He is a bit stubborn; nevertheless, he is pleasant to deal with.
Nick is an only child and his parents love him very much. His father is an engineer, and his mother is a teacher. They live in a two-room flat. I have been to their house a lot. Nick’s parents are always very friendly to me.
We spend a lot of time together. We often watch videos or listen to music. Sometimes we go to the cinema or to the theatre, or walk around the centre of the city, visiting small cafes, museums and art galleries. We talk for hours about all sorts of things (politics, love, teachers, girls). We discuss films, television programmes, books.
I never quarrel with Nick. But if there is some misunderstanding between us we try to make peace as soon as possible. What I like best about him is that he is always willing to help and share his knowledge, thoughts and feelings. I respect him for his fairness, strong will, intellect and modesty.
I miss Nick when we don’t see each other for a long time. Without him I would feel lonely and uncomfortable. Our friendship helps me to feel strong and sure of myself.

My friend Marina
I would like to tell you about my friends. I have a lot of them, but my close friend is Marina. She is my school-mate.
We have been studying together in one form all the eleven years of our school-life. She is 17. We have nothing in common in appearance. Marina is pretty in her own way. She is thin and slender, not very tall. Her hair is red and straight, her face is oval and her forehead is high. She has a turn-up nose and beautiful green eyes with bushy eyelashes.
Marina is as good as gold. Warm-hearted and gentle, quiet and well-bred. Everyone loves her. She is always well dressed and neat. She is always ready to help people, when they are in need.
Marina is the only daughter of her parents and they adore her. Nevertheless she is not selfish.
I like to be around her, because she knows a lot of interesting stories, funny jokes. She is fond of reading.
Marina goes in for sports. She plays tennis and swims.
She does well at school and it seems to me that all the subjects come equally easy to her. This year she is leaving school and has chosen medicine as future profession. I hope she will make a good doctor.
We always meet at the weekends. We discuss books, listen to the music or visit our friends. I always enjoy the time spent together.
I am happy to have such a friend as Marina. I am sure we shall be friends forever.
