My School

My School 1

I have just finished school number … My school is (not) very new and modem and (but) it is very conformable and all the pupils like it very much, it is really home for everyone, who studies there. It has three (four, five, two) floors. The classrooms are light and high. There are classrooms for practically all the subjects — English, History, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Literature, etc. There is a computer class in our school, -where pupils study computing, one of the most important subjects nowadays. There is a school hall in our school, too. Meetings, conferences, concerts and all the celebrations take place there.

Our school has a gymnasium and a sportsground. Many pupils are fond of sport and they have a good opportunity to go in for different sports there.

I am very thankful to my school. When I was only seven years old, I entered it to get some knowledge and I know many things now thanks to my school and my teachers. The teachers in my school are very kind and clever, they give all their knowledge and all their love to the pupils.

There is a good tradition in our school. Every year the school leavers come here to meet their teachers and classmates. Such meetings are very touching and interesting.

I’ll never forget my school, my favourite teachers and my classmates. It is my childhood and it is the happiest period in one’s life, to my mind. My first friends, my first love and my first achievements and disappointments are all connected with my school life.

My School 2

At the age of 6 or 7 all boys and girls go to school. I go to school too. The number of my school is 338. Our school is large and light. It is neither old nor new. There is a schoolyard around it. It is a pity, but there are no flowers near the school. You can see a sportsground behind the school.

Sometimes we have physical training lessons there. Our school has got three floors. There is a workshop on the ground floor.

It is big. There are all kinds of tools and machines there. The boys of our school have a wood-work room too. They learn to make things of wood in this room. There is a room for manual work for girls. It is not on the ground floor, it is on the second floor. There are some computer classes, and pupils like such school subjects as Computing. If you enter the school and go to the left you see a dining-room. Here pupils and teachers have their breakfast and dinner. The dining-room is a clean one. There are many nice pictures on the walls. There is a gymnasium near the dining-room. All pupils like to go there, because they like physical training lessons. Our school has got a library.

It is on the ground floor too. There are a lot of interesting new and old books in it. But our library has no reading-room. Our school has got many classrooms. We have got two English classrooms. History, Geography and Physics classrooms and others.

They are big and light and each of them has got two large windows with green curtains, flowers on the window-sills, a bookcase near the door, the blackboard on the wall. The teacher’s table with many books on it is situated not far from the blackboard.

There are twenty desks and some comfortable chairs in the classrooms. There is a TV set in each classroom. Sometimes it is used during the lessons. There is a school hall on the second floor where meetings and conferences take place. We organize concerts, parties when we celebrate our holidays. Pupils of our school sing songs and dance modern and folk dances and perform some plays there.

The last bell is organized at our school in a proper way. It is a very remarkable day in the life of all the pupils. The pupils of the first form and the pupils of the eleventh one are preparing for this day with great pleasure. The teachers’ room is on the second floor. There are tables and chairs for teachers, a TV set and a telephone there. It is a comfortable and cosy room and the teachers like to spend their free time in it. I like my school. I go there and get knowledge.

My School 3
I’ve just left school and I would like to tell you a few words about it. My school is not very big. It is quite a modern three-storeyed building. More than 400 pupils study there. It is a specialised school famous for its high-quality education and strict discipline.
When the pupils come to school they leave their coats in the cloakroom on the ground floor. The gym, the canteen, the library and workshops are also on the ground floor. We have two workshops: one for girls, where they learn to cook, to sew and to knit, and another for boys. Our gym is large and well equipped.
On the first floor there is a large assembly hall. We have our meetings there, and on some holidays parties are held there. The principal’s office, the computer class and the language laboratory are also on the first floor. Physics, chemistry and biology laboratories are on the second floor.
The classrooms for junior pupils are on the first floor, and for the seniors, on the second floor. In every classroom there are two or three rows of desks with the teacher’s table in front. There is a blackboard and a bookcase. There are some pictures and maps on the walls. The language laboratory is equipped with tape-recorders for listening to English texts on tapes, a TV set and a video-player to watch teaching programmes.
I went to school six days a week. Classes began at half past eight in the morning, but I usually came to school ten minutes earlier. Each lesson lasted forty minutes. After three or four lessons we had a thirty-minute break. During this break we went to the canteen to have lunch. Every day we had six lessons, and they were over at three o’clock in the afternoon.
We usually had a lot of homework and it took me several hours to do it. Sometimes I had to stay up to write a composition, to prepare a report, to translate a newspaper article from English to Russian or to learn a poem, by heart.
After classes I usually didn’t go home right away. We had some out-of-class activities. Our social and cultural life was well organised. For example, we had an orchestra, a choir, an arts club and an International Friendship Club. I was a member of the drama club.
At school we had classes in Russian, literature, mathematics, biology, geography, physics, chemistry, English, history, computer programming. We also had music, physical education, arts and crafts.
My favourite subject was English. I liked to learn new words, to dramatise texts and dialogues. I liked it when we discussed something interesting to us, when we were taught to debate, when we had small-group discussions or set up a role-play.
But I wasn’t very good at chemistry. I always failed to learn formulas and terms properly. Maybe our chemistry teacher was too serious, too academic. She was not imaginative enough and her lessons were a little bit dull. There was not enough excitement for us to get interested in the subject.
I liked my class. I always felt at home there. Everybody was so friendly and easy to get along with. I was on good terms with my classmates and we often spent our free time together.

My School
My school is a three-storeyed building. It is quite big with sport ground behind it, inside swimming pool.
On the ground floor there are the classrooms for the primary-school pupils, workshops, library. There are all kinds of tools and machines in the workshops. The boys of our school have a woodwork room too. There is a room for manual works for girls. Teachers teach them how to cook, sew and design clothes. Our school library is nice and clean. Two librarians help pupils to find books they need. There are many bookcases and bookshelves with a lot of books there.
If you enter the school and turn right you see a big light dining-room.
It is always busy and noisy, but it is clean. Here pupils and their teachers have their lunch. There are blue curtains on the windows and beautiful pictures on the walls.
There is a gymnasium on the ground floor as well. Our physical training lessons are held there. Pupils like to go
there even after the lessons, because it has a lot of sport equipment.
Our school has many classrooms. The classrooms are light and spacious. There are three large windows in each classroom with flower pots on the window sills. Each room has teacher’s table, pupils desks, blackboard, tables and charts on the wall, maps and portraits.
There are special classrooms for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, English, and Russian.
On the third floor there is a big nice assemble hall. A lot of meetings, concerts, festivals are held there.
Our classroom is on the second floor. Its windows face the school-yard. Our form-mistress is a teacher of Russian language and literature. We respect her very much, she is a kind and knowledgeable teacher. She teaches us Russian and is so fond of her subject, that each of us cannot help liking too.
When I think about my school I don’t remember its walls j and desks; it is my teachers and school-mates who will be always with me. I am so thankful to our teachers for what they have done for us.
